A. Signup as a new User


Make sure you have an Internet connection on the Computer you want to install Report King.

  1. Open Google Chrome and visit www.getreportking.com.
  2. Click on Get Started.
  3. Click on Sign up at the bottom of the page that displays.
  4. The Report King ‘Sign up to continue‘ page displays.
    Enter the following details:
    User name = a combination from your name e.g. smulondo for Solomon Mulondo.
    First Name = First name (or Christian name or given name) e.g. Solomon.
    Last Name = Last name (or Surname or Family name) e.g. Mulondo.
    Gender = Select Female or Male.
    Email = your email address is required.
    Password = type your password (remember it because you will need your password together with your username to sign into the system.
  5. Click on Signup. An email with a One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your inbox. Go to your inbox, copy the OTP and enter it into the field provided, and verify. The ‘Schools‘ page should show up after you successfully signup.
B. Create new School and download Report King
  1. Click Create a new school under My schools,
    Enter the following details:
    Name = The name of your School as it should appear on the termly reports.
    Address = School address e.g. P.O. Box 445, Arua.
    District = Select the district where your school is.
    Telephone = Mobile telephone contact for the school.
    Email = Email address for the school.
    Level = Select Secondary or Primary.
    Classes = Select all classes that your school has.
  2. Click Create School. Report King downloads automatically onto your computer (it takes about 2 to 3 minutes).
  3. Go to STEP 2 of the Report King User Guide for guidelines on how to customize Report King.

Add School subjects and subject papers for A Level

You do this while you are still signed in as the admin of Report King

  1. Click Subjects & Papers .
    The page that displays has 2 tables:
    a) the top table shows all compulsory subjects ( S3 & S4) subsidiary subjects (S5 & S6) and some core subjects (S1 & S2).
    b) the lower table contains all subjects examinable by UNEB.
  2. Add school subjects as follows:
    i). Search for the subject name or subject code in the lower table.
    ii) Tick or check the box to the left of the subject.
    iii) Click on Add subjects.
  3. A Level onlyadd papers done in each of the subjects for A Level:
    iv) Click on the ShortName of the subject e.g. GEO for Geography
    v) Select which papers are examinable e,g. 1, 2 for Mathematics or 1, 2, 3 for Geography. You can select different subjects and then add them all at once.
    vi) Click on Edit to add the papers.
  4. Disconnect from the Internet and go to STEP 3 of the Report King User Guide for guidelines on how to how to customize your school details.

Add logo, motto, Streams and Houses etc.

At this stage, get offline or disconnect from the Internet before proceeding.
You will now use Report King entirely OFFLINE and data will be kept on the computer you are working with.

Notes:

  • You will only need to connect to the Internet in order to get Report King updates.
  • To get Report King updates, connect to the Internet and then Reload or Refresh Report King 2 or 3 times and wait for about 2 minutes for the changes to fully download to your computer then click the Switch schools menu and click on your school name.
  • You will also need to connect to the Internet in order to Save Data Online (so that a copy of your data is backed up in the Report King Cloud).
  • If you need to work from a different device, then you have to go to www.getreportking.com, login with your valid email address and password, click on School Details menu then click Get Online Data.

Authorized Role: Admin

  1. While disconnected from the Internet, click School Details if not already on the Schools page.
    The page displays with 4 buttons – Edit School, Subscribe, Save Data Online and Get Online Data.
  2. Click on Edit School.

    Add School Logo: Click on ‘Choose File‘ to locate and add the school logo or badge; use the square around the logo to remove unwanted areas then click on Accept then Save.
    Motto = Type school Motto.
    Streams = Select the class, type the stream; hit the Enter key to add different streams. Once you have typed all streams, click Add Stream.
    Houses = Type the name of the house; hit the Enter key in order to enter another house.
  3. Click on Edit School at the bottom to save your changes.
  4. Go to STEP 4 of the Report King User Guide for guidelines on how to to add class teacherssubject teachers and house teachers.
Add Class teachers, subject teachers, and other roles where necessary

Usually done by the admin of Report King.

  1. Click Teachers & Classes menu.
    Click on Add data and enter the following:
    Name = Full name of teacher e.g. Mulondo Solomon.
    User Name = a combination from your name e.g. smulondo
    Gender = Select Female or Male.
    Date of Birth (Optional) – you can leave this for now but you can always add it later when you edit your account details.
    Email (Optional) = email address for the teacher (will be needed later for teacher to be able to login).
    Role = select from list.
    For class teacher select class and stream; for each teacher select subjects and papers taught by the teacher in a given class/stream.
  2. Click Add Teacher.
  3. Disconnect from the Internet and go to STEP 5 of the Report King User Guide for guidelines on how to add students into the system.

    Note:
    – For teachers to be able to login, you will need to update their file to include an email address. A OTP will then be sent to the teacher’s email for him or her to be able to verify the email address and log into the system.
Add or Import Students and their optional subjects

  1. Click Students & Options.

    a) Click Add Student to add a student at a time. Make sure to fill all essential data such as Class, Stream, Gender, Admission Number, and optional subjects for O Level or combination for A Level students.
    Notes:
    – For a Stream of S2 NORTH Enter Class=S2 and Stream = NORTH.
    – A unique Admission Number is required for each student.

    OR IMPORT many students at once. See example table below.

    b) Click Get Excel Template to download a MS Excel template (usually in your Downloads folder).

    c) Open the the template named students_form and click Enable Editing; enter students’ data in the template STRICTLY under then respective headers with at least these 5 fields (Do NOT tamper with the column headers):

    Name: full name of student e.g. Kasanka Godfrey Lutu.
    Admission Number: A unique number for each student.
    Class: class e.g. S1 or S3 or S6.
    Stream: A or NORTH – exactly as they were entered in the School page.
    Gender: Female or Male.
    Section: Boarder or Day (spell exactly).
    Subjects: type the subject code followed by a comma then a space.
    Example: 800, 223, 208, (end comma must be there) for O’ Level optional subjects Commerce, CRE & Literature respectively.

    See example table below. You can always add more details by editing individual students.
  2. Save the file.
  3. Click on Choose File under Import students. Locate and select the MS Excel template and all students will immediately be imported and displayed on the screen.
  4. Go to STEP 6 of the Report King User Guide for guidelines on how to adjust grading and add assessment types as well as different types of reports.

To Delete a Student:

1. Select the student and click the Delete Student button at the top.

2. Click on Clear Fields.

Adjust grading, remarks, assessment types & report types

Usually done by a class teacher or an administrator of Report King.

  1. Click the Grading & Remarks menu.
    a) Select the Level:

    Whole School: choose this option if you want to use the same grading for all classes in the school – S1 to S6.
    A Level (S5 & S6) choose this option to set the grading for S5 & S6 classes only.
    Mid Level (S3 & S4) choose this option to set the grading for S3 & S4 classes only.
    Lower Level (S1 & S2) choose this option to set the grading for S1 & S2 classes only.
    Per Class choose this option to set a different grading for each of the classes S3, S4, S5 & S6.
    Per Stream choose this option to set a different grading for each of the streams S3, S4, S5 & S6.
    Per Subject choose this option to set a different grading for each of the subjects in each class

    b) Select the grade/identifier and change the mark (Lower Limit) or Remark/Descriptor and click Edit to save your changes.
  2. Click the Assessments & Reports menu.

    a) Under Assessment types, type the name (e.g. Beginning of Term or Mid Term) and Short Name (BoT or MT ) then click Add.
    b) Under Assessment reports type the name e.g. End of Term Report S5, Mid-Term Report S2 etc.; select the assessment types to be included on that report and the %age contribution of each assessment type e.g BoT=30; EoT=70. Click on Save Report.
  3. Go to STEP 7 of the Report King User Guide for guidelines on how to add student marks.


Add marks & prepare reports

Note: Enter marks out of 100. The system will calculate the respective portions of each assessment type on the report.

  1. Click the Marks & Marksheets menu.
    This will display the page where you can add marks and view marks.
  2. Click on Add Marksheet Data and select the required fields so as to generate the marksheet data for each subject for each assessment type. Click on Accept.
    Click Get template to download the generated marksheet to the ‘downloads‘ folder on your computer.
    Open the downloaded MS Excel template, fill in the marks:
    a) out of 100 for old curriculum and A Level
    b) out of 10, 19 or 28 for new curriculum for each competency.
    Example for English S1 with 3 competencies : Competency=Debating% 10 Competency=Composition writing% 19 Competency=Story telling% 28. See table below:
    and save template.

    Click Choose File and select the marksheet to import the marks into the system.
  3. Click on View Marks to view imported marksheets and select a marksheet to view or edit student marks.
  4. Go to STEP 8 of the Report King User Guide for guidelines on how to pay for your subscription.

  1. Pay the UGX150,000/= per term subscription from your Report King School Dashboard to automatically renew your subscription for the period paid for.

    You can also subscribe for a year (3 terms at a go) .
Customize, preview and print

  1. Click on Broadsheets & Reports.
  2. Select the Year, Term, Assessment Report, Level and Class. This should display the names of the registered students in that class.
  3. Click on Generate Broadsheet to view the Broadsheet.
  4. Click on Save Broadsheet to save the broadsheet for use by reports, and later to be accessed from the Broadsheets tab at the top-right.
  5. Click on Print Reports to display all reports for that class. Format the report and choose options to be included on the report from the left pane.
    You may also click on the Broadsheets tab at the top-right to select a saved broadsheet so as to format and print reports.
    Alternatively, at the top-right, click on Broadsheets.
    – Select the Year, Term and Class and click on Get Broadsheets. This should display the list of all broadsheets that were saved.
    – Select the particular broadsheet then click on Print Reports.
  6. Adjust the look of the student reports, and choose options to be included on the report from the left pane.
  7. Save changes.
  8. Print Reports.

Training is not necessary since the Report King is designed to be easy and straight forward with a step-by-step Report King User Guide available on our website.

But if you still need training for your staff then reach out to us and we can arrange it at an additional cost of UGX100,000/= for a 2-hour online training using Google Meet or minimum UGX250,000/= for on-site training depending on location.

A. Signup as a new User

Make sure you have a good Internet connection as this software is used purely online.
  1. Open Google Chrome and visit www.ab.co.ug and scroll down to UCE/UACE Mock Results Processing.
  2. Click on Log in.
  3. On the page that follows, click on Get Started.
  4. On the page that displays enter the following details:
    Name = Full name of the system administrator e.g. Mulondo Solomon.
    Gender = Select Female or Male.
    Email = Your email address is required.
    Password = Type the password or use the password generator.
  5. Click on Signup. An email with a One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your inbox. Go to your inbox, copy the OTP and enter it into the field provided, and verify. The ‘Boards‘ page should display after you successfully signup. Reload the page after 15 seconds if the Boards page has not been displayed yet.
B. Create a new Exam Board
  1. Click Create New Board.
    Enter the following details:
    Name = The full name of the Exam Board as it should appear on the results slips.
    Address = Exam Board address e.g. P.O. Box 445, Arua.
    District = Select all districts that your Exam Board covers.
    Telephone = Telephone contact for the Exam Board.
    Email = Email address for the Exam Board.
    Website = Optional if the Exam Board does not have a website.
  2. Click Create Exam Board.
  3. Go to (MOCK) STEP 2 of the User Guide for guidelines on how to add Schools to the Exam Board.

Add (import) Schools to the Board, and Students to the schools

Notes:
a) Delete a School:
If for some reason you need to delete a school, do the following:
i) Click on Schools
ii) Select the school you wish to delete and on the corresponding menu on the right, click the red Delete button. You will receive a warning message like so Deleting school will also delete students and marksheets.
ii) Click the yellow Delete text to confirm delete. Please note that this action is not reversible.

  1. Click Schools.

    a) Click Get Excel Template to download a MS Excel template onto your computer.

    b) Locate and open the the downloaded template named schools_Name of Your Exam Board and click Enable Editing; enter schools’ details in the template STRICTLY under the 6 respective headers (Do NOT tamper with the column headers):

    Telephone: Telephone contact for the school.
    District: District in which school is located.

  3. Go to Schools and click on Choose File under Import schools. Locate and select the MS Excel template and all schools will immediately be imported.
    To view the imported schools in Report King, click on Switch Schools, select your Exam Board and click on Schools.

Add (import) Students for the schools

  1. Click Schools to list all schools under the Exam Board.

    (A Level combination subjects) Enter the subject code followed by a comma then space. Example: 510525, 425, 850. (end comma must be included) for combination Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Subsidiary ICT (do not include General paper as it is automatically added to each A Level student).

    See example table below.
  2. Save the file.
  3. Go to Schools, select the school and click on Students on the corresponding menu.
    Click on Choose File under Import Schools Students. Locate and select the MS Excel template with school’s students details and all students will immediately be imported and displayed.
    To view the imported students in Report King, click on Switch Schools, select your Exam Board and click on Schools. Select a given school and click on Students.
    Select the Year and Level and click on Get Students.

Notes:
a) Marks Entry: Enter marks out of 100 unless specified otherwise.
b) Missing Students: In the case of a missing student after marks have been entered the do the following:

i) Add the Index number, Name and Gender of the student to the original list on the Excel File you used to import all students for that Level for the given school. Save the Excel File and re-import the students.
ii) Then using the same marksheet file that contains marks for all the other students, add the Index Number and Student name on each applicable subject marksheet.

  1. Go to Schools and select a school and click on Marksheets.
    a) Select the Year and Level (Leave out subject – do not select it) and click Get Excel Template to download a MS Excel File with marksheets for all subjects and papers onto your computer.

    b) Locate and open the the downloaded template named marksheets_Centre Number_School and click Enable Editing; Marskheets for all subjects are available on different sheets of the same Workbook.

    c) Enter students’ marks and Examiners ( e.g. Examiner1, Examiner2, Examiner3 ) in the template STRICTLY under the Marks and Examiners column headers (Do NOT tamper with the column headers or any other data on the marksheet).

    See example table below.

    c) Click Choose File under Import Marksheet and select the marksheet to import the marks. The marks will be imported, saved and displayed on the screen.
  2. Click on View Marks to view imported marksheets and select a marksheet to view or edit student marks.

Yes. When you buy a web hosting plan from AB, you will get custom email addresses of the form you@your-domain-name.  The maximum number of custom email addresses you get depends on the web hosting plan you purchased.

Two ways – webmail (directly from a web browser) or an email client (a program installed on your desktop computer, laptop or mobile device). Email credentials will be sent to you through your support ticket, and you are strongly advised to change the default password to another password of your choice.
